Welcome to The Mexican FoxLair©, a companion website of Mexican Coin Magic!
Mexican FoxLair© is designed for serious Mexican coin collectors, coin dealers and auction houses who want and need more in-depth in formation about the Republican Period gold and silver coins. While Mexican Coin Magic© gives the general public and people interested in collecting, buying and selling Mexican coins free information, in a online digital magazine format, this website is designed and developed for the few hardcore people that thirst for more quantitative and qualitative information ... for a fee!
This website presents various types of sales data, overall and condition rarity information, plus photo reproductions that serious and advanced collectors demand, and coin dealers and auction houses need! This information is needed by some in order to properly attribute coin varieties, others to determine each DAM’s (Date/Assayer/Mintmark) overall and condition availability.
FoxLair has an ongoing population survey reaching back in history over 100 years (the oldest catalog in our database is from 1878) and continues to monitor not only current auctions, but also ads in numismatic periodicals, dealers fixed price lists and even some Internet auctions. By January 2008 our computerized master list of catalogs and fixed price lists numbered 5,960, from 308 different sources, of which 3,322 have been entered in our population survey database.
FoxLair captures more data, about each and every sale, than anyone else in the numismatic trade collecting Mexican coin sales data. We offer this data in a number of easy to use formats, from recap reports-- that are a dream to use, to all of the details collected about each individual sale.
All FoxLair reports have a unique feature, unavailable anywhere else! A dynamic numbering system that lists each and every DAM and all of its known varieties that have been found in 25 years of research! Many of these DAMs and varieties have never before been published, let alone been photographed or scanned.
As The Mexican FoxLair Project© continues, we will offer updates to all of our current products and also introduce a few new ones. Hopefully this abundance of good information will help generate new collectors to step into the wonderful world of Mexican Numismatics.
